I wouldn't even worry about calling girls "guys". I do it all the time. An easy way to avoid it is just call everyone Dude. I'm convinced that dude is the world's most versitile word. Not dudette though, that really bothers me for some reason. It's like the song:
"I'm a dude
He's a dude
She's a dude
We're all dudes..HEY!!"
