The swimming competition is over, but the end of the meet was a highlight for Team USA with several exciting races and a few world records. The mixed 4 x100 medley relay winning gold, Bobby Finke's 1500 and his coach Anthony Nesty's emotional reaction to the WR /gold, and the W 4 x100 medley relay. Bobby Finke had a gutsy swim that went against his normal race strategy, and it worked for him. Good lesson to all of us that sometimes change is good.
Dressel had a strong fly leg to close out the meet.as the USA won silver in the medley relay. The women won the medley relay with Regan Smith setting an OR leading off, Lilly King with a tremendous 104 split, Walsh 55.0 (tied for the fastest split ever) and Huske a strong 52.4.
I really enjoyed seeing Katie Ledecky cheering on her teammate Bobby Finke in the 1500 and the USA athlete section reacting to the races. What will we do without this excitement? On to summer nationals in a few weeks!
