So I am perplexed as to why people wear 2 bathing suits in practice. I feel kinda silly asking them. Is there something I should know about this?

Then you get to a big meet, you only have one suit on (sometimes a "technical" suit, i.e., a fastskin) and you feel like you move through the water more easily.
