Sounds like the straps are too tight. I use Smack Straps on all of mine, as I cna't seem to find the sweet spot between getting a good seal, and too much pressure with the rubber bands that come with the goggles. I've tried bungees, too, but they don't do as good of a job as the Smack Strap, IMHO. www.smackswim.com/.../
