Vertigo and getting on starting block

Does anybody else suffer from vertigo when having your googles on and getting on the starting block? I can climb a ladder and paint my house but feel like an "Old Man" if I put my googles on and try to get on a starting block for a meet. Any suggestions?

  • I don’t really do the type of swimming/racing that requires starting blocks. But at almost 62 years old, I can appreciate that feeling you’re experiencing. You said “…if I put my googles (goggles) on and try to get on a starting block…” in that order. I’d suggest that you don’t put the goggles over your eyes until you’re standing on the block. Maybe that’ll work. — Dan

  • Thanks Dan!  That does work well. At some meets, there isn't a lot of time to do that and I always run the risk of getting some leakage. Have a great Thanksgiving.
