When do you swim?

I am an evening swimmer 8:30-10:00 Our outdoor long course pool opened, but is only going to be used for am (6:00-7:30) workouts for the next month. I love swimming outdoors and long course so I thought, "I'll do it- I'll swim in the morning". So I did today. Now it is about 1pm and I am fading fast. I can't keep my train of thought. I just put my head down to get a little micro-sleep and noticed two different socks poking out from my pant bottoms (One all black anfd one black with red flowers). I was just curious what the break down of amers/lunch timers/pmers was. Also, any advice on how to get up in the morning?

My body is used to the after-work workout; when in season, I swim with the local age group workout at that time. The rest of the year I hope the Y will have a 6 pm swim time, or lunch time if I can spare the time from work. I seem to spend more time planning when to swim than actually swimming.

I'm in the pool at 5:25, out of the pool 6:30, in my car headed to work by 7:00. My breakfast consists of a PowerBar (or similar) and some water. If I'm lucky, I'll have time to down a yogurt before my classroom is invaded by inquistive hormonal 7th graders.;)

I'm an AM swimmer, 6 days a week. I'm in the pool at 5:30 AM when it opens M-F, and at 7AM when it opens on Saturdays. I am not an AM swimmer because it's when I'm at my best. I'm an AM swimmer because that's what my schedule allows. If I didn't have any other obligations, I would prefer to swim in the late morning (11 AM for example) or early afternoon. I seem to have the best in me at that part of the day. (If I swim too late in the day, I seem to get sub-par sleep at night for some reason.) So 5:30 AM it must be. And that's what I do. I wake up at about 4:45. I eat a banana or other fruit, have a cup of coffee and a glass of juice. That gives me some blood sugar and hydration without being too heavy in my stomach. (And caffiene, of course! :) ) Then it's off to the pool. My swim takes a little over an hour most days. I come right back home afterwards. I eat a hearty breakfast, relax a bit, and then I take a nap. Maybe 20 minutes max. It's just enough to recharge and get my heart to stop pounding. Then I'm good to go for the day. (Without the nap, I'm worthless -- especially in the late afternoon and beyond.)

I tried the same thing. It worked for about a month. Now, I get up, turn it off and go back to bed..... I was thinking of putting it downstairs in the kitchen.....

I usually just put the alarm clock on the dresser on the otherside of the room; this way I HAVE to actually GET OUT of bed, to turn it off! It works great!

I walk across my room to hit snooze every morning. I snooze for half an hour. Then I told myself I could actually sleep for an extra half hour by setting my alarm half an hour later and getting right up. I was half an hour late for work! I need that snooze time to get myself moving ... A morning person I am not ...
