I used to be an astronomer. Drew paychecks from the US National Observatory (in Tucson), University of Hawaii, the Max Planck Institut in Germany, the University of Wyoming and the Navy at various times during my 40 years of employment. It was fun and kept me from ever having to hold a real, worthwhile job. Now, I don't do anything but train, eat good food and drink excellent CA wines. Where did I go wrong? posted by Meldyck Wow, that is a very fascinating field to me Mel. If I had a chance to do it all over again, astronomy would be right up there at the very top of the list. I can't get enough of the shows on t.v. about astronomy via the Science channel ...etc.. What was your specialty if you don't mind me asking? Were you more low frequency astronomy or perhaps high frequency astronomy? (like x-ray and gamma ray astronomy?) Newmastersswimmer
