USMS Swimmers,
for those of you who are interested in competition, I'd like to draw your attention to the 'Current Top Times' searchable database at the USMS web site (www.usms.org/.../toptimes.php). This database has been in existence for a number of years but this year is being fueled by a new USMS Committee that has been busy gathering results for your inspection. We now have 90 meets entered into the database for our current SCY season, far larger than the previous high of 38.
I would like to thank members of the USMS Meet Results Database Committee for their diligent work in gathering these meet results for all swimmers to use and enjoy. In particular, thanks to Cav Cavanaugh, Barbara Dunbar, Laszlo Eger, Mark Gill, Fritz Lehman, Jim Matysek, Hugh Moore, Michael Moore, Rick Osterberg, Mary Pohlmann, Jeff Roddin, Barry Roth, Ed Saltzman, Bob Seltzer and Ed Tsuzuki. Those of you who use and appreciate the database might want to thank those folks for many hours of hard work on this project.
I'm expecting that we will top out at about 100 meets by the end of the current SCY season.
While this database is NOT associated with the Top Ten awards, it is supposed to include swims from all meets sanctioned or recognized by the USMS. As such it gives credit to ALL swimmers who compete, not just those of us lucky enough to make the Top Ten lists.
But please note that you are likely to find mistakes. If you do, please submit an email to the USMS Webmaster a link to which you can find at the bottom of the Current Top Times opening page. We have already found and corrected a number of important errors that could have crept into the Top Ten submissions, thanks to feedback from our swimmers.
