Hello, I'm going to Fort Myers Beach, Florida (Estero Island) next week for vacation and I'm trying to find the closest pool to swim at. The pools I've found so far are in Fort Myers and are at least 35 minutes away. Does anyone know if there are pools in Fort Myers Beach?
Like the sarcasm. Thanks for the help. I did see that just about every hotel has a pool but as we all know those are difficult to get a real workout in, that and they're about 89 degrees. I'm just looking for a lap pool, yards or meters and don't necessarily need a masters team to swim with. I checked using this site and didn't see any pools on the Fort Myers Beach Island but was hoping they had a high school pool or something.

The high school on Sanibel Island has a reasonable pool, which is outside, clean and about 25 yards long. The hours when I was there were just in the middle part of the day, not great if you want to stay out of the sun -- but very much a do-able pool. Sorry, I don't know how far this is from where you are looking.

There is this big body of water right there I believe it's called the Gulf of Mexico ... kidding ... I'm sure there are hotel pools. I'll ask my brother he lives there.

Try the website for the local team www.swimflorida.com. I did the Estero Island race a couple of years ago, and the people from Swim Florida were very nice and helpful. And you can swim in the Gulf, but the water is murky.

www.ymca.com shows two YMCA facilities within 15 miles of Fort Myers Beach. Don't know what is at either one, but check it. They give phone numbers on the web site.
