I do not find it difficult to "get into a workout" wearing a two-piece. However, it does create more drag. Those workout bikini tops always feel like they scoop up the water. I suppose it's like wearing a drag suit, so it makes me feel like I'm getting an even tougher workout. Granted I only get to swim outdoors in the middle of summer, and you'll never catch me willing swimming indoors in a two piece.

As a dude, i am far more motivated to consistantly swim - daily - by those who wear two piece speedos. i for one find them much nicer.
In the summer I like to train outside and work on my tan in two piece suits. I have worn all types-Tyr, Speedo, Nike and Arena and have found no significant differences. I would feel a little weird, though, wearing one inside...

Interestingly enough if you look at pictures from the Athens training camps a number of the girls were training in two piece suits. Outside two piece, inside one (multiple one piece suits, but one pieces nonetheless) ... That's just me, do what you feel comfortable in!

I've found that the two piece workout bikinis (as opposed to regualr beach bikinis) can be comfortable to work out in if you get them well fitting. The only thing that has bothered me is having to tie the drawstring on the bottom tight enough for it not to fall off on a flip turn. I've never been fond of tight stuff around my waist.
And like Hrietz says, I also like wearing one in the summer to get a tan. Another perk of being a swimmer I guess. And swimming backstroke you get to tan your belly.
