Can someone please explain to me why distance swimmers are encouraged NOT to lift weights, or too much weight?
I've read the "do nots" but no one explains the "whys".
Help!
Another consideration for college distance swimmers is that they have a 20 hour training limit per week and lifting takes away from the pool time they require.
