How better to spend a Friday afternoon at work than by typing up some of my most favorite quotes ... I’ve done this thread before but rather than go looking for it I thought I’d start it all over with some of my favorite quotes. We are all getting into “championship” mode so here y’all go ...     I've never really undersood "inspirational sayings." Do you really get anything form them?

    I love quotes. I think your true motivation comes from within, but I find it very inspirational to hear what top athletes and coaches say. Just like I find it inspirational to know that Natalie Coughlin ran into the lane line like crazy on backstroke at 03 worlds. I like to hear what great athletes have to say. When I am in the middle of a tough set or I don't want to go to a workout I repeat the quote in my head and remind myself of why I am doing it. I know not everyone works this way. But for me it fires me up.

    I'm reading that book right now... it's awesome! I love funny quotes, too amongst my favorites ... "It is better to have swum and lost than it is to have ever been a cheerleader." And more inspirational ones ... "If you can't win the race, make the other guy break the record." "You win some, you lose some, sometimes you get rained out but you gotta suit up for them all."
