I had the opportunity to buy the speedo polyester suits (Marshall's had them for $16.99!!!). I purchased my regular size speedo and tried it on at home.
Does any female know if they are sized smaller than the usual lycra speedos? I could barely pull it over my hips and it didn't begin to pull up to my shoulders. I know there's not stretch BUT!!!
Yes--it was an adult size!!!
Do you have to size UP for this type of suit?

I got a Speedo Endurance (one of the polyester ones) in my regular size and it fit fine. It was just tight, like a normal suit, not anything like what your saying. Maybe try getting it wet and see if that helps to stretch it.

I found a bin of really inexpensive 'Speedos' for little girls last year and bought several for my granddaughter. They worked just fine for her, but my point is, while they had the Speedo label I don't think they were the same line as Speedo's 'swim team or fitness suits.' Maybe you found the same kinda thing in adult size.
The speedo poly suits definitely run small. I bought one last year in my usual size, but it's so tight that I just wear it for meets. I'd like to get another one in a size or two bigger for practice - they certainly last a lot longer than lycra suits.
the right tags from Speedo so I doubt it was a case of "mistaken identity".
Oh well. It was a try. I'll just keep buying suits at the end of the season and pay under $25 and "kill" one in about 6 months.
Glad to know, though, it wasn't my body that was having the problem but rather the manufacturer's design decisions.
I agree that the Speedo polyester suits do run smaller. I wear a 28 in a lycra but go up to a 30 for the polyester. If I wear a 28 in the polyester I feel like I am swimming in a thong and I have to keep pulling it down...
