My twin brother is a former swimmer and current artist, and I told him about the "Meaning of Swimming" thread on this forum. I also told him how at night when I try to get to sleep, I will sometimes visualize myself flowing through the water, very relaxed, effortless in the blue water.
John has been working on digital art in recent years, and he did a semi-abstract animation that gets some of this feeling across. I invite one and all to take a look at his website:
www.jrtart.com
Once you log on, click on "animation galleries" and scrowl down until you see one with a picture of a sunset, then play this.
It probably works best if you have a cable or DSL modem, otherwise it can take a while to view it. If you check it out, let me know what you think and I will forward your comments to John. He said he may try to do some more swimming art in the future. Thanks.
Hi, Jim. I am positive my brother would love to hear from anybody about his art/swimming animation/ etc. and I also suspect he'd be more than happy to post your poem.
One comic animation he did--and I am trying to get him to post this--allowed a cartoon version of me to "race" various teammates in various distances of freestyle. My brother rigged it so I always win!
It's nice to have a genetic duplicate looking after your best interests.
Since I last posted here, he updated the abstract swimming animation slightly. I invite everyone to check it out.
