Men's 2005 Div 1 NCAA championships

Bob: One of the things I heard about Tom Dolan was that at the 1995 NCAA meet his astma did not effect him at all. The meet was in Indy and University of Michigan won the NCAA Championship and that was there first since 1961. Tom Dolan had probably the best meet of his career and still has 2 American Records from that meet still on the books. He never had problems during the whole meet and set records in the 500 Free, 1650 Free, and 400 IM. I also heard that one of the reasons he would "hit the water with his fist after a good swim and winning" was that is asthma would act up during the races and he could hardly breath. This happened after then first day in Atlanta and he was pretty much finished doing well after the 400 IM. By the time he would face Perkins in the 400 Free he was pretty much out of it. In fact I don't think he made consols in the 400 Free in the 1996 Olympics.
