Hi Gang...
Today was my first day back in the pool in nearly 3 months! I've really rusted up in terms of ability...lost alot of endurance and strength. on the 100 I was coming in on 2:00...basically back to square one. After a 100 I was tired!! It's too bad, especially since I was getting strong.
I'm wondering how long you think it will take me to get back to my normal 1:35-1:40?
Ultimately, I regret taking time off...I was really getting fast with great endurance and comfort. Winter just takes it out of me!!
Thanks for your thoughts,

I think a 3 month break is not a big deal!I mean, yeah you do see a difference now but I am sure you will be back to you desired times in no time at all, there is such a thing called muscle memory and if your muscles experienced something before(especially if it was not that long ago) you will definitely see that again very soon.Just do not rush things, I know the feeling of trying to get back to what you used to do very quick, do it gradually and it will come, my bet - about 2 months.
I dropped from about 1:50 to 1:06-1:08 now since August(well, considering I never swam before in my life, but still).
P.S. Just do not quit it any more like that and you will have your times dropping ...
wow--1:06 or 1:08. I never was that fast, not even in high school. My best time was around 1:10 or so...and that's race pace at a swim meet.
this 1:35 or so I speak of is a casual pace...when I was coming in at that I'm not really sure what my race pace would have been...I should have gone to a meet!!
thanks for the encouragement. I know that if want to have decent times this summer in triathlon events I've got to keep my butt in the pool! Today was a big lesson.
