Flights at Nationals

Does anybody remember FLIGHTS from age group swimming? They were usually set up 'B' flight and 'A' flight, and if you had 'A' times or better you were in the 'A' flight... At the end of the meet they would tally up each flight and combine the scores for an overall team total. Does this sound doable at Nationals? We could have 2 flights. Since USMS does not have time standards like USS, we could simply divide the number of swimmers in the event in half. For example: mens 50-54 100 free, there are 30 entered. The fastest 15 would be in the "gold" flight (or whatever name you'd want to give it!) and the next 15 would be in the "silver" flight. This would also allow the "silver" flight swimmers to score points when they might not otherwise. At the end of the meet you add up the "silver" and "gold", combine the totals and you have your combined team totals. This would include more people and they might have more "buy in" to the whole Nationals "thing". 'Geek, This is not meant to give everybody a prize. It's meant to encourage and include swimmers who might not normally "count" in the team divisions. Just a thought...
