What the heck is it about goggles - some days I'll get them on perfectly and I don't have any leaking at all. Other times, I'll put them on, and they start filling up like crazy on my first 5 yards out from the wall.
Other times, I'll be in the middle of a swim, stop to rest for a few seconds, then get on it again and they have started leaking for no apparent reason...
I am also a nose clip wearer...and I find that after about 500 yards, the nose clip is sliding off.
Sooo frustrating....
anyone else????
Oh I forgot to mention the same thing with ear plugs that all of a sudden won't seal...
But then there are those great days when everything is sealing, not leaking, not sliding and I'm a happy camper.
Was going to put this on my personal website's rant section but figured my visitors wouldn't relate to it but visitors to this forum definitely will!

The nose piece isn't adjustable; my goggles are "Lane 4" goggles which came with my SwiMp3 attached. The ear plugs - same story. In order to hear the music, I need to have in the ear plugs. Before I had the Mp3 Player, I had to wear an ear plug at least in my left ear, as when I do my flip turns, that ear is the ear that is up and would immediately fill up with water when I executed the turn.
Oh well, me and my $#@!! gadgets!
I've tried tightening, sliding the 'bone phones' around to prohibit the cups not suctioning to my face...it's just weird that some days things fit perfectly and other times, it's like my face changed.
Thanks for listening and interjecting!

i know the feeling! try tightening them... I have a small face, so it's always a problem for me... I 'splurged' and bought some sedish goggles; they're more consistant.
I used to wear ear plugs (I'm a candidate for infections). they leaked so much, that I gave up on them; I just pull the cap over my ears (which stays put for about 30 secs!) and use the ear drops after a workout.
good luck!
Why don't you try adjusting the nose piece, if you can? The speedo goggles I ordered came with several different plastic nose pieces...sometimes, the goggles are set too far apart on your face, that's why they leak sometimes. If you don't set them just right, there's a little break in the seal that forms....I dunno, but it's worth a shot!

No offense meant but if you don't have all the equipment, you don't have all the malfunctions. Having said that, the last pair of goggles I bought came with a really crappy strap that didn't perform the most basic function of keeping the goggles on my head. Apparently goggle manufacturing is undergoing a change for the worst.
You can use your swimp3 with almost any set of goggles, no need to use the ones it came with. The only limiter is getting the split strap correct.
I use the strap that came with it on the lenses of my own goggles that fit me well.
The inconsistency of the fit is often because the speakers have slid too far forward and are actually pulling out on the straps. Pull the speakers back toward your ears.
I have never used the earplugs with the swimp3 and don't see why you would need to.
