What are your thoughts about teams combining for out of LMSC meets (not nationals) and not competing as the same team within the LMSC.

  • Originally posted by matysekj I have participated in relays at nationals as a result of the superteam, some very competitive and some not so competitive. All of them have been fun, and sometimes as a result I get to meet and hang out with people that I otherwise would not have met. If banding together like that encourages more of our members to remain members and participate in more nationals, I'm all for it. If we swam as a local team instead and there were less relay opportunities as a result, I could live with that also. I thought Jim's post was well spoken, I just emphasized the part that I particularly agreed with. If I'm having a great season, then I will be on the 2nd age-group relay, at best (unless it is Sunday, and we are scrambling for swimmers). So from my perspective, it is mostly about having a fun relay, which makes it even more thrilling when we can sneak high enough to get a point or two. Hey Jim, if Dave O'B is still swimming, tell him that my brother Chuck should be at Nationals. :)
