Yesterday, (after waiting for a week) I finally got my Royal Blue USMS Speedo Swimmer's Backpack from Kast-a-Way Swimwear, just in time to prepare it for last night's swim.
This backpack is so great that I can practically stuff everything I usually take with me to the pool, hassle free. Here's what I like about the backpack compared to my ol' gym bag. I am able to put my street clothes (shirt, pants and shoes with socks inside) inside and zip the cover w/ out having to pull the zipper or leave it open!
With my gym bag, I didn't have that much room and had to leave the main compartment open, praying that nobody snooped in there and take my valuables.
Another thing I truly like about my backpack is the design, the mesh compartments, a compartment to store wet items and the "hole" on the top, near the arm straps to allow ventilation to prevent funky smells that you usually get in gym bags.
I can truly say that this is a great investment.
Now for questions.
How many of you have a Speedo Swimmer's backpack and how many of you can't go swimming without it?
I know I can't, now that I have one.

I've had one for over a year and I LOVE IT TOO!!:D I use it for everything-I took it to Disney World this fall and I used it in the parks everyday. The only problem is the wet pack plastic dried and cracked so it doesn't keep the wet stuff completely separate anymore.
i don't have a USMS backpack, but i do have another style of speedo backpack. and i absolutely love it. i constantly question why it took me so long to get one. i also use it for short trips that don't involve swimming (which are few and far between ;) )

I don't know whether it actually "dried", but it got less supple-I'm wondering if the chlorine had something to do with it.

I'm glad you liked your USMS bag... I used to work for Kast-A-Ways and it's an awesome item!
Yes, you can get a LOT of stuff in there!

That happened to me before on the plastic of my cell phone case. The part that went over the buttons used to be nice but one day it just cracked in half... So I don't think chlorine might have anything to do with it...

hi,
I have one also; one of the US olympic style ones... I bought it at Sports Authority for $16.00, on sale.
The straps had to be reinforced, because they were beginning to tear, due to all of the junk I schlep around with me to practices...
I think that they're great!
peace...

Yep, this seems to be my year for swim "gadgets & gear'". Got the lap counter last month, bought this wonderful swim backpack a couple of months ago, and don't know how I did without it. Of course that adds ONE MORE BAG to my arsenal. One for biking gear, one for run/walking gear, one for normal take-to-work gear, one for gym weight training gear, and now one for swim gear. I feel like I am constantly packing and unpacking -- well, that's probably because I am...
