I love quotes and I thought it'd be cool if everyone posted their favorites whether or not they are related to swimming, motivational, inspirational, funny, etc.
"It is better to have swum and lost that it is to have ever been a cheerleader."
"The view from the summit is worth the effort."
"Success is found in our daily routine."
"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out shouting, "Holy Sh*T what a ride!"
There are many others I will post when my eyes are more than 1/2 open...

My favorite swimming quote is: "WE don't EXCLUDE."
Now, let me explain. I am a USMS registrar. About 8 years ago, a guy named Benno called me asking about how to register the members of his new club. He was very evasive when I started asking detailed questions about his club and how he had found so many members. Finally, and reluctantly, he told me that it was an IGLA club (International Gay & *** Aquatics).
He was visibly relieved at my reaction, which was to not only help him get his club (the KC Wave) registered but also to offer to introduce him to a couple of the swimmers on my team who might be interested in his group.
As I got to know Benno, he started telling me about how his group would be going to IGLA meets, how much fun they were, and how I should go with them. I said, "But I'm not gay." Benno looked at me and said, "WE don't EXCLUDE."
Well, it was hard to argue with that. So I went to a meet with them and he was right. It was SO much fun that I've gone with them to several more since then!
