What price range have you paid to enter LMSC meets (non-championship) that has pre-entries and deck entries? What price would you consider too high for either? Assume 5 individual events plus some relays.
As I recall, I have paid $10 - $60 for 1 to 2 day non-championship pool meets and $20 - $800 for open water swims. Late entry (deck entry) surcharges were $5 – $10.
I never gave much thought to what price is too high. I guess I would say the price was too high, if the meet host made an unreasonably large profit, based on the work done. For instance if the host had $0 expenses, did little work and charged $15 to 200 entrants, then I might consider this $3,000 profit too high. On the other hand a meet host with $4,000 in facilities and other expenses, investing lots of time in the event, and charges $50 for 80 swimmers, would just be breaking even. I would consider this under priced.
