Just had to give something for us northerns to write about.
You know you are swimming in the north when you go for a polar bear swim.

You know you're swimming in the NorthWEST when....
1) you visit the espresso hut before practice
2) you visit the brewpub after practice
3) piercings and tattoos are as common as caps and goggles

You hitch a ride on the back of a snowmobile to make it to practice on time.....(also...you know you're in the Northeast when the driver of the snowmobile is jamming to Joe's Garage by Frank Zappa).

You know you are swimming in the north when yuo wonder why people in St. Louis actually think that they are living in the north. They aren't northerners!

Try coming to Seattle where the mountains receive 500" or more of snow per winter, but we get maybe a couple inches average at sea level. OK, we do have some rain to contend with :)

Why would anyone BE a swimmer in the North when you can BE a swimmer in the South. It was 75 degrees this mornning when I hit the pool.

I'm not a big fan of the dead of winter but I do love fall and spring in the north. Leaving the pool all bundled up in a hoodie when it's all sunny outside with the wind blowing is a great feeling. Plus, I don't have raccoon eyes and my incredible paleness which doesn't really tan isn't all that odd.
