...a large group of (large) people file into the YMCA pool area on a Sunday afternoon and fill the bleachers, not to watch me finish my set, but to conduct a baptism.
They stayed away from the lap swimmers.

you approach the blocks for your race and you hear" ya'll step up, ya'll take your mark" and after the gun goes off, the swimmer in lane 2 yells "YEE HAW" as he dives into the water!!!:D
