MY hip hurts!

I just started swimming about a month and a half ago and everything was ok until about a week ago my hip started hurting so bad that the paid echoes almost all the way through my left leg.The pain is basically right in my left buttock, on the side(not where you sit down).I find it kinda weird, I have no idea what caused it.Another funny thing is that while I am swimming I don't really feel it, but as I stop to rest standing I can hardly do it because of the pain. Also, I get that about 20 min. through my work-out.I strech before every time I swim and especially since my hip started hurting like that.Still does not help! I thought maybe I pinched a nerve or something, because the area is not swollen, but the pain is there. ANY SUGGESTIONS?PLEASE, HELP! THANKS.

When my sciatica is pinched, I do the following: 1) I sleep with a pillow between my knees - this takes the pressure off while my body relaxes during sleep and 75% of the time the pain is gone the next day; and 2) I stretch by hanging - grab a bar with arms at shoulder or wider width and let the weight of my body stretch out my spine - I have to really focus on relaxing my my lower spine which tries to resist letting go and stretching.
