I just started swimming recently and one thing bothers me a lot: when I am done, my face feels like it was just given a face-lift: the skin is very dry and gives me a feeling like someone is pulling it.I am sure the chlorine has to do with it.I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good products to soothe the skin for that matter,
Thanks.
I've got a bottle of Vaseline Intensive Care (w/aloe) skin lotion, just for those days. I think I picked it out because the label said "non-greasy". It works well enough for me, but I haven't tried other products.
Ooh, this is kind of a toughy.....I could honestly recommend a few things, like aloe vera lotion (like the kind you put on after a sunburn) or some simple face lotion (read: do not use hand lotion...very baaad) but it all sort of depends on how your skin reacts to things...I don't want to tell you to use something and have your skin go all wacky on you, or burn or anything.....so I'd say start with some aloe, or some face lotion, and just see what works (that won't react to your skin funny)
Stop using lotion. Just wait till your body grows scales - problem solved :p
Or if you don't want to look like a reptile - as others have said try different lotions. See which one works best for you.
I second the Unscented Curel. I have extremely dry skin by nature and when I get out of the pool my face is all dried up and tight. A little dab of the Curel and its healed until the next swim. In addition, there is no stinging. It is also one of the few lotions that does not contain mineral oil which is actually a drying agent.
