Getting back in the game

Hi out there to all, my name is Stephanie, and I'm having some trouble, I was hoping y'all could help me. I've been trying to get back into the swimming world after four years of dealing with a serious knee injury that left me out of the State Champs my junior year of high school and beyond. I'm interested in hard-core training and competing, to hopefully finish a career I'd started in high school. The problem I have is that I'm moving to Pittsburgh in a couple months, and until then, there's nothing around this small Ohio town to get me started. I'm not under 18, and I'm not in high school anymore, so there's really nothing group-wise for me. I would really appreciate any help, advice, workouts, dryland, coaches in Pittsburgh/groups, weights, anything like that. I was primarily a backstroker, shortcourse 100 and 200, and relays. Thanks!

Shannan--that only holds true during school hours at Pitt (it's called the U-Bus). If you're trying for the very early swim at Trees--there IS a transportation problem. ** Alot of the workers at UPMC (especially those in Shadyside and Oakland) have trouble because of this--if they've got a very early shift--trouble getting to work. I think the early workouts are at 5:45 am. Do you think you want to be standing in downtown pittsburgh at that hour waiting for a bus? went on the www.portauthority.org site.** There is a 54C bus that leaves from the NORTH SIDE (near where alot of students live near Allegheny Center). Bus leaves at 5:22 am and goes through a couple of neighborhoods (including the north side at AGH (hospital) and arrives at the Pitt campus at 5:51am.
