Dust off those old photo albums, ransack the attic of your college memories, and ask yourself the following:
- If there are photos of you sporting chlorine green hair,
- If you know the "I'm an onion" song,
- If you were able to follow the debate about Aaron Piersol's backstroke turn or Kosuko Kitajima's dolphin kick,
- If you have ever looked forward to trips to Grinnell IA, Beloit WI, Wheaton IL, Milwaukee WI, or UW Whitewater in the Dec - Feb time frame,
- If your future spouse has ever asked you, "You spent HOW MANY hours a week doing WHAT when you where in college?"
You may be an LFC Swim Team Alumni.
This party is for you (and your friends, classmates, family members, and whatever other assorted hangers-on you want to bring). Last year at homecoming we had the first annual Alumni Swim Meet at the pool. About a dozen intrepid souls showed up for this awesome (ahem) exhibition of athletic nostalgia, er... prowess. (Don't try denying it; we have photographic evidence and sworn depositions.) We're planning a repeat performance this year, and we really, Really, REALLY want to see your smiling face at this year's event. Please clear your calendars for:

This meet will be a little more structured than last year. We are planning a sprint pentathlon format. In other words,
50m Fly
50m Back
50m ***
50m Free
100 IM (In this order) Swim 'em all, or just a race or two. Your choice.
The relays will be a surprise, 'nuff said. Also, I would like to gauge interest in what other events you folks actually want to swim. Please see below to vote for your favorite event. We'll entertain anything 400 meters or less, down to, yes, 25s if you really want to do ultrasprints, or pretend you're an 8 & under again. We'll add an unplanned event or two after we see the votes.
When we see who's coming, we'll divide up the teams, loosely based on the year you graduated. We're also hoping for a few "celebrity" appearances from the current LFC team members, and we'll use the ringers to balance it out some more. We're also planning a social event afterwards. Alec and I are thinking some sort of tailgate style cookout right before the football game. Again, details are TBD. Think fun, think unpredictable, think Sat, 9 Oct.
Here's what we need from you. First please tell me that you're coming and how many folks are coming with you, so we can gauge the size of the group. Second, please let your friends and classmates know what is going on, and get back to us on how to reach those folks. Our list of alums is incomplete; the email address list even more so, and the more people who show up, the more fun we will all have. Chat this up among your friends. Third, please use the form below to tell me what event you'd like to swim in addition to the pentathlon events, and to suggest social function ideas.
