I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of excitement and debate about the olympic swimming events. Both here on this board and also at my home, office, etc. Is it my imagination, or is there more interest in swimming from the general public (aka non-Masters swimmers) this olympics?
It's a shame that we can't have this kind of interest in swimming more often.

We've had way more masters in the pool this summer compared to last summer, don't know if it's the Olympics or the natural growth of our program. We (Rose Bowl) are taking 5 teams (30 swimmers) to the Maui Relay over Labor Day weekend.
