I have noticed that there seems to be a lot of excitement and debate about the olympic swimming events. Both here on this board and also at my home, office, etc. Is it my imagination, or is there more interest in swimming from the general public (aka non-Masters swimmers) this olympics?
It's a shame that we can't have this kind of interest in swimming more often.
I have noticed people in my office are paying attention to the Phelps saga, but they can't really name a second swimmer unless its Thorpe.
I'm afraid the general public interest in swimming will pass quickly when its not on TV every night. But meanwhile, its very exciting
