Proud to be a swimmer and proud of fellow atheletes

you know what...this is my first year in tri. and, no offense, but it really does seem like of all atheletes, swimmers are no doubt the coolest and most emotionally mature.
over the course of 10 months, I have endured some of the most insulting behavior on the part of fellow triatheletes. I can't stand it. I know not everyone is like that, but dang it, I'd rather hang out at the pool then have a bunch of stuck up gear freaks pose like they know more than me, or witness them insult others--specifically volunteers at races!
ok--I'm totally ranting (read: having a glass of wine ;) ), so please no one take offense.
I just really want to tell you that we are doing something right in this sport. Having fun, enjoying each other's company, and appreciating others are all things we do--and guess what, it's amazing how many other atheletes out there do not do the same. It's a damn shame.
Oh well! that's why they envy us!
love you guys!
