Yahoo reports that Phelps will (once again) be the 4 X 100 relay. http://sports.yahoo.com/oly Also note that Hall continues his public grumbling about the possible decision to include Phelps. "There were no exceptions for anyone else...No one qualified for the Olympic team in February except Michael Phelps." For someone who has been in three Olympics and who father was in another three, Hall is remarkbly ignorant about relay decisions at the Olympics. Go read Schollander's book and get an insight into how relay members have been selected in the past. Basically, coaches have always been given the opportunity to select who shall swim in the relays based on: 1) performance at trials and/or 2) past performances and/or 3) who is having a hot meet. Hall should keep quiet and swim a 48 flat with a relay start and he'll be in the relay. Anyone who cannot swim faster than 48 low shouldn't complain about being replaced by Phelps at night. NB: Walker understands it's about winning the gold not be "fair" to those who swam at Trials. Quite frankly, except for Lezak the US swimmers in the 100 free did not perform that well and unless they improve dramatially in prelims will not win a gold without Phelps.
