Mel, to add one I personally admire, Dave Radcliff. I believe 1956 Olympics. With him at 70 and me 33, he can still beat me!!

If you're looking for former olympians, yes, they compete in masters.
Even some of the current superstar swimmers compete in Masters on occasion. At Short Course Nationals in Indy we had a chance to see Gary Hall Jr. and few other members of "The race club"
I maintain the list of all Olympians that have registered for USMS, some swim meets some do not........there are 192 names on this present list. If anyone knows of any Olympian who just began masters, please let me know. I have all the names listed in the post, including Dave Radcliff and myself.

I think he won in 52 and 56 and was second in 60 and fourth in 64. Impressive feat and certainly makes him famous. He's considered the inventor of the throwing style still commonly used.

OK, here's my take on this. The following is a list of names I've seen in one or more USMS meets (or personally encountered). All are US Olympians:
Chris Cavanaugh 1980, 84
Rick Colella 1972, 76
Troy Dalbey 1988
Jeff Farrell 1960
Rowdy Gaines 1980, 84
Dave Gillanders 1960
Gary Hall, Jr. 1996, 2000, 2004
Burwell Jones 1952
Susan Jones-Roy 1968
Ron Kavanaugh 1992
Angel Martino 1992, 1996
Don McKenzie 1968
Jim Montgomery 1976
Bill Mulliken 1960
Anita Nall 1992
Sandy Neilson-Bell 1972
Penny Taylor 1948
Roque Santos 1992
Alan Somers 1960
Jane Swagerty-Hill 1968
Sheila Taormina 1996, 2000, 2004 (Two different sports)
Mike Troy 1960
Tom Winters 1960
This is not an all-inclusive list. In fact, there are so many Olympians swimming in USMS meets that, if you are lucky enough to be in the fast heat, there will probably be one next to you!!

Come on Gail lets see you list. I was so proud of you at the Trials, you got a great big cheer from all of us! John Moffett has swum masters, from the 80-84 teams. Same for gal in John's video, she was a breaststroker in 88 team with a scottish name.
