I received this through the Colonies Zone grapevine and would like to share this. Thanks to the Metropolitan (NY) LMSC for sharing.

I'm so excited about the upcoming trials that I've marked them on my calender as a friendly reminder.
and while we're on the subject of calendars (sorry for being a bit off topic here!) my first official workout with my masters club is this Wednesday!!!
(Back on topic) For all of you living in Mountain Time Zones, the trials are at 7:00 on NBC, just like Mark in MD said!
one last word: YAY FOR TELEVIZED SWIMMMING EVENTS!!!!

Men's 100 back: Lots of fast swimmers. Peirsol and Krayzelburg have to be the favorites, but look out for Bal and Marshall plus the old-timers Neil Walker and Jeff Rouse!

Women's 200 fly: three way race between Sandeno, Dana Kirk, and Mary Descenza.
The Men's 100 back at the Santa Clara Invitational this year was one of the best races I've ever seen. Michael Phelps was in there with the swimmers listed above. Jeff Rouse for president!
I had a chance to meet Mary Descenza. I hope she wins everything. She's such an awsome person. If anybody is still looking for a favorite swimmer, I vote for Mary.

This one will probably be a two man race between Peirsol and Phelps, though. Lenny is entered, but he has said that he's only swimming the 100. Who knows, maybe he'll swim prelims and see if he feels he has a shot.
I mostly concentrated on races where there were several swimmers with a shot of making the team. I think Michael and Phelps will duke it out for first, with the next group two seconds behind them.
That's how it played out at the Santa Clara Invitational this year. Peirsol was the clear winner; Phelps was second.

OK I am excited too about the trials --Only a few short hours away! I am jumping out of my skin and I am not even at the meet swimming!
It's like Christmas in July (Literally!) for all of us Swimmers! All I know is that I'm NOT going to miss this at all. ....and on a Friday even!!!
Paul,
Yes, Phelps should be taken seriously! I’m just not sure how serious we should take Nick Papps of The Advertiser News.
Most credible journalists are reporting how centered Phelps is for a teenager. Also, most of times Phelps’ is quoted, he is saying that his goal is to win an Olympic medal. The multi-gold expectations are coming from the media frenzy, not Michael.
"If something happens it happens, if it doesn't it doesn't but I'm at least going to try."
I think Michael Phelps will do more than try, but I like this quote. Let the kid swim. We'll see what happens.
