Does anyone else out there swim alone and not with a team? I have been doing this for about nine months now, and have used meets as the means of keeping me motivated. Now after Spring Nationals, I find that even trying to swim a mile three to five times a week tests my patience....I just get bored really quickly, and trips to the pool become less and less appealing.
I'd like to return to 2 mile workouts to be in shape for some of the events I'd like to tackle at state next month - mainly distances over 50 and 100. This weekend I tried some 200 meter events and tired out too early. Any suggestions on how I can become a stronger swimmer, beat the boredom, and become more motivated?
Thanks!

kaffrinn...I kinda understand what you're going through! I swim with a team, but there are only 2 of us right now that compete. The other person swims with the age group workout in the evening. I swim with our lap swim people at lunch. There are several others that come out, but after about a half hour they are done. Leaves me to a pool by myself. The thing that motivates me is definitely swim meets. With out those........:( Sometimes it's nice not having to fight through the traffic, but it would be nice to have someone pushing me!!!!! :D
