Hi All:
I am new to Masters Swimming and the Chicago area, I hear
that the program at UIC or the Chicago Masters group is the
best program in the Chicagoland area.
Is this true ?
I am coming from the Diving side of this (woodlands Diving - down in Houston,Texas) and due to a knee injury I can not continue to dive....also....due to a job re-location I am now living in Chicago.
Would appreciate any suggestions and advice....
Thanks
Joe

I am not sure that all of us from Chicago would agree that CM is the best program... even though they are super nice people.
It depends what you are looking for in a team. You should look into Chicago Masters, Blue Dolphins (also practice at UIC), New City Y (although rumor is that they are not accepting new people), Smelts, Flying Carp, and Shabbona Sharks if you live in the city. Plus there are also smaller teams through clubs around town. UIC has early morning practices, Blue Dolphins is more TI, Smelts is the cheapest team and I could go on and on.
Do you want to train to compete, improve your swimming or have other goals? Let us know and I am sure that we can help you. You can also try out teams in the area until you find one you like.
I agree with lizzie, the best program in the Chicago area depends on who you talk to. :D
Have you already checked out the team list on the CMSA web site ?
