Colman Pool in Seattle is certainly one of the more interesting pools around. It's an outdoor, 50 meter, city-owned pool. It's setting is pretty spectacular--right on Puget Sound with a view of the Olympic Mountains to the west. It's pretty old so it isn't exactly what you'd call a fast pool, but it makes up for it in character! For example water is drawn in from the Sound (and filtered, of course) so there's definitely a salty taste. Also, it's in the middle of a large park, so if you drive there you have to park at least 1/4 mile away and walk in.
I'd much rather swim a workout there than in the "world class" King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way. At least in the summer, that is :)
