For a number of years, I've used a product called SolarMax. It's an alcohol-based product, and once the alcohol evaporates, it's basically on until you wash it off with soap and water. It has an SPF of 17, and provides both UVA and UVB protection It was supposedly invented by a couple of scientists after they had a bad experience with sunscreens and jetskiing. You can order it online at:

I use Bullfrog brand (SPF 36 or 45) and have never had any issues for race up to (at least) 4 hours in length. I sunburn very easily, to boot. Just don't get it in your eyes or in the goggles. Remember to get UV blocking goggles as well.

I have been battling skin cancer for alot of years. Recently my dermatologist recommended Eucerin Extra Protective SPF 30. When I use it and go out in the sun it protects completely. No color change in my skin!! By the way the dermatologist is listed in the publication Americas Best 100 doctors. Good luck with your sun protection search.
I like Dermatone Lips 'N Face for my face. It's the only sunblock that doesn't make my face break out (contains clear zinc oxide). Doesn't come off until you wash your face with soap. Comes in a small blue tin.
