Went to the local big meet last Saturday, and who was there besides me and a couple of 100 other swimmers but one Gareth Eckley!
Always a swimmer (ME) against a swimmer turned coach who swims (GARETH).
We are the same age group and even though we did not actually race head to head we did compete twice in the same event.
I beat G in the 100 free, going 69 and G put in a credible 74.
In the 50 fly, G swam 35+ and I went 37+ (PB)
It was a good days swimming and even though once again I swam too much (6 races in 6.5 hours) I had a good time. G only swam twice then went away to rest!!!!!
Good to meet you Gareth, hopefully next time we are @ the same competition (Manchester LC?)we will end up in the same race.
