Ultimate Swim Times

When considering the overall speed of swimmers in the past and present it seems that although times are still dropping for swim events there is a "dropping off"graphically of time improvement..now do you think this could mean that there will be an ultimate saturated speed time that will never get beat?i think that unless we evolve say webbed feet or the like then this is possible....thoughts?
  • I too am hysterical at this thread. At one point I thought Connie was going to say she was laughing so hard she had to pee, then I read "peel myself off the floor". Tom, are bloomers considered the latest in pulling gear? I was wondering what the drag factor would be? (and please read the following with the sarcasm intended) I'm sorry, but I must object. I AM from California after all, and you all must be politically correct. In order to keep from hurting people's feelings you must say they are POST bloomers. Ya know, saying "late" can connote negativity, and their self-esteem balloon may become deflated, and then who knows what might happen. No WAIT, I know who they might end up like... the VO2 max spokesEuropean, I mean person, no that's not right either...HELP!

ALL IS WELL WITH THE UNIVERSE! Peace hath returned for all! Actually, y'all, thats what this is all about. Everyone, whether they realized it or not, felt the need to rebond with each other and re-establish the cohesiveness the group had prior to the marathon thread.

Isn't it similar to the IBS Shampoo? of course the combination of VO2Max and Exlax would have the same effects as IBS Shampoo alone AND SMELL LIKE IT TOO.

Heck, if we keep this up, it might pass that "other" thread.

Now I am concerned about a possible new side effect. Let's say that Tom is in lane 2, Connie is in lane 4 and between them in lane 3 is another swimmer - for discussion purposes, lets say an Eastern European late bloomer with an over inflated evaluation of their swimming skills based on a self created category with very narrow limitations for inclusion. Let's also say that all three have used VO2Max shampoo generously throughout their training and on race day. Is it possible for their molecular structures to become mixed up? Is is possible that we could end up with a single swimmer that is 1/3 Connie, 1/3 Tom and 1/3 Eastern European late bloomer with an over inflated evaluation of their swimming skills? Possibly with arms rotating uncontrollably even after the race has ended? He (She?) could be arguing with themselves - "You can stop rotating your arms now!" "Can't, it's helping me build up my VO2Max!" "Is not" "Is too" "Is not" "Is too" "We need to work on technique too!" "That's somehting that 98.625847% of USMS swimmers (who are slower than me) say. If we have enough VO2max, we can swim broadside and set records!" "Cannot" "Can too" "Cannot" "Can too" So Connie and Tom, you can see that continued use of this product could have dire consequences!
