I was just looking at the prelim results for the Western Sectional meet going on in Federal Way, WA. It looks like we should see a good race tonight in the women's 100 meter ***. Here are the top two seeds from this morning:
1 QUANN, MEGAN 20 TITANS-PN 1:09.57
2 BEARD, AMANDA 22 FORD AQUATICS-AZ 1:10.32

My prediction is Megan Quann wins, but not by much. She's better in the 100 and Beard is better in the 200.

"Back to 1:05" would be pretty great for Megan; her AR is 1:07:05. Alas, she scratched again tonight, so it was Amanda in 1st with a 1:08.65 - not bad since she's no doubt in heavy training.
Dennis Baker, more of a 200 swimmner, could "only" manage 15th in the 100 with a 58.6. He's an inspiration to all of us in Oregon.
