I am curious to what your preferences are regarding Speedo or TYR products (or other). I myself am a Speedo girl, and always have been. However, I recently bought a discounted TYR reversible suit for practice and it lasted way longer than any Speedo ever has. I'm tempted to buy TYR again, but do I dare switch loyalties? I like Speedo styles better - I've never been big on brand names at all, except when it comes to swimming - there's just something about Speedo.
Yowza, three months! For suits, I'm a Speedo man myself. I have three lycra suits that have been good to me so far. I have a TYR chamois, which is super obsorbant and I prefer Aquasphere goggles for their wide visual range.

TYR and Speedo are good brands. When I shop for suits I usually check out www.kiefer.com they carry most nop brands, and have good stuff themselves.
I get most of my stuff -- except suits -- from kiefer. They seem to have all the accessories at the best price: fins, buoys, PRESCRIPTION GOGGLES, etc.
But for suits I go for whatever is cheaper, and my experience for best prices has been "grab bag" suits from The Finals. (Under $10 per suit for mens in quantities of 3 or more.)
Having said that, I should qualify that my use of suits may not be as critically precise as some of the more serious swimmers here. I do some masters meets, but I'm rarely a top-heat qualifier, so absolute performance from my suit is not that critical.

My best suit was given to me by a Japanese swimmer at the 1956 Olympics... pure silk. As for swim goggles I love my nod and shakes, wish I could find some have to be satisfied with TYR's you can see nod and shakes on my web page under marathon swims.

I like arena or adidas suits. The arean suits seem to be light weight and hold very little water, esp. the high tech suits. They seem to retain a lot less water than the speedo fastskins.
The adidas full body suits, to me, seems to move better than the speedo fastskin. the material doesn't seem to be as restrictive, in my opinion.
I wear speedo suits and tyr goggles. I had a problem with the suits wearing out quickly until someone told me about polyester suits...they feel a bit wierd until you get used to them, but they last forever. as for the goggles...I have a very small face, so I've only ever been able to find ONE type of goggle that fits me and that isn't painful to wear.
From the moment Stu Isaacs gave me a free paper suit at the 1989 junior nationals, I have worn nothing else but Speedo -- except for the three or so times I tried the H20 Velocity suits because my former roommate owns the company.
I was sponsored by Speedo. They have my loyalty forever.
And I have a training suit I have worn since 2003. Not one sign of fading yet. And I still have the Aquablade suit I got in 1997. The lining is starting to go, but other than that it's perfect.
I'll pay for the name brand. They paid for me to live for three years. It's the least I can do.
I swam at the YMCA when I was a kid and we were not allowed to wear swim suits. I would prefer to swim in the nude it feels much better, however we must be modest I still wear speedo' but preffered a pure silk swimming suit from Japan.
