What is the fastest age for a swimmer(mine seems to be faster as i get older and yes i swam as a youngster...now im 37..)?

Possible answer:
They don't know any better!
Actually I would take a guess that it has to do with their body hydrodynamics - thin slender body not much resistance so they don't need massive muscle strength to move through the water.
