Hey you guys, there has been talk about starting a purely social forum on this site. I think those against it have some pretty solid reasons, but there is also some pro responses too. Well, I took it upon myself to start a yahoogroup that would serve as a place where those Master swimmers could go to just have fun chatting with each other about anything.
For those of you who have never been a member of a yahoogroup 'our' site has a message board, a place for polls, a place for databases, a place to post pictures, etc. We will even have our own private chatroom for real time chat. If you are interested in joining, go to
yahoogroups.com
in the join a group box, type
swimatyourownrisk_nolifeguardonduty
(it is case sensitive)
then follow the directions for joining.
There's nothing out there right now, but come on be the first to post on the message board or the first to post a pic.

THE SITE IS IN NO WAY CONNECTED WITH THE USMS ORGANIZATION
Bug:
Don't get me wrong, I like your group and the idea. My only concern was including Masters in the description. Don't want the Bug to get in trouble.

Having said that, the term 'masters,' regarding sports, is pretty generic- if you were using USMS, or something v. specific, then there would be issues.
Changing it like you said should be fine.
I have a concern about this.
The description on the group states:
_____________
A place where Master swimmers may come to socialize. The site has a message board, place to post pictures and links, polls, data base and even a chat room for real time chat. Come enjoy the site.
_____________
You have capitalized Masters, which implies affiliation with USMS. Is Masters trademarked to USMS? Or, does it even matter?
