Does anyone else find that by doing 5/6 sessions a week for about 1-1 1/2 hrs each that the bags under their eyes get saggy and loose from wearing goggles for so long???:(
That's happened to me but it stopped when I switched to different type and make of goggle. It may be an irritation because the goggles don't fit right or maybe an allergic reaction (or it could just be age :p).
I had bags and rings until I switched to Barracudas. After battling with them for four months to get them adjusted so they didn't leak, I finally had a good pair of goggles that didn't make me look any uglier than I already am. It was, however, a TRUE TEST OF PATIENCE!!!
I'm with Shaky on the Barracudas - although I didn't have any trouble. They were leak proof for me right out of the box! I guess they used my head/face as the model when designing the goggles!:D
When I first started college, I had a roommate in his late 20s who had partied hard for a long time. It showed. He was developing bags under his eyes, so he started applying Preparation H to the puffy areas each night before he went to sleep. He swore by it, saying that their claim to "shrink tissues" worked on more than just 'rhoids.
Maybe something to think about?:D
I've found something that is a little less disgusting than slathering Prep H under your eyes. Olay regenerist makes an "eye lifting serum" I have used it before and after my swim for the past week. It really seems to work. I used to go to work with bags under my eyes but this stuff seems to minimize it. Definitely worth a try!
The Barracudas are my favorite though there "swim nurd" hey nose plugs caps ect are all swim nurd but we arnt fish! The Brarracudas do have to be adjusted just right with the nose bridge and strap adjustments and they often have to be tightend
up a bit when new. Just dont throw them into your swim bag or they will also carry your towel ect marks with them! The newer Barracudas have a black foam seal that is spossed to be better then the white ..softer.
may be softer (I'm still using the white foam)--how do you see if there's a mold/mildew problem developing? Every couple of weeks I wash my Barracudas with phisoderm to try and clean up the foam and get the oil off the lens. I've tried a weak bleach solution and that does work. One year I got a little too carried away with the bleach and managed to loosen the adhesive on the front of the lens!
Word to the wise---make SURE the bleach is very diluted unless you want to replace the goggles!
I do rinse the goggles after every swim and they are "line-dried" but still they get a little funky.
