Does it help to have long legs?
Is it a hinderance?
Does it make any difference?
I keep wanting to revert into a whip kick.
 this one is gonna take a while.
Oh, yea, even when I do get the motion right, there is hardly any propulsion. I get much more out of a whip kick.
I think I'm still missing a muscle or two to pull it off.
It's so frustrating when something doesn't sink in. I know, I know, keep practicing and experimenting... and just like everything else, one day it will click.
Yeah, I'm very sore today. I suppose that means, I'll be growing muscle where I need it.

Well, sometimes in *** you feel you timing is off. Wayne knows a lot more about it than me. Anyway, I saw the little paragraph about your weight loss in Swim Magazine. Its good that you gave up the pills, they are not good for you. Anyway, there is no results for the Santa Clarita meet and did you drop more seconds in that meet.
New pool, but total rookies at meet results.
I went through all the mistakes years ago. I need to get them up to speed, they have a long course meet there in May!

yep its gotta be sleek, doesnt matter length o leg but the leg kick should happen sleekily whilst finishing the pull, remember to glide for an unnaturally long length of time with the arms full out in front, this takes lots of practice because at first you feel slow and lazy doing it....just watch your times diminish as you also improve stroke count...technique is proving to beat hard work recently!!!!
Getting the technique right is hard work.
You're still working very hard, but you're focusing on putting your energy into perfect technique execution, instead of lot of unrefined explosive movements.
it's like gymnastics, lot of moves look very elegant and smooth, but to do them that way, it takes more energy then it does to muscle through them!

Oh, I didn't get my swim magazine yet! I think I'm in the second mailing batch. Thanks for noticing. Now I'll be waiting next to my mailbox, wanting to know what they wrote ;)
Yeah, I always had weight issues, since I was about 8 years old. Keeping it in check is hard work.
Yea, I dropped time in santa clarita. Dropped 3 seconds in the 200, and 6 seconds in the 500 free. I have a setback with my sprinting 50 free at the moment.
Did 35.09 in Las Vegas in January, then dropped back to 36-something in El Segundo, now I'm 35.4 someting in Santa Clarita.
My sports massage therapist tells me it's because I'm so sore from the workouts, that it affects you on the sprints the most.
I'm making progress though. It never progresses as fast as I'd like it to... but, it's getting there. I think realistically It'll be another year before I can consider myself being in a really good physical shape. Long way to go, but, it'll get there. I've been through this cycle before... not with swimming, but getting into shape. The fat is still coming off. I keep seeing changes in the mirror. Helps keep you going :)
I think it's close to the time I should go get my body-fat done again, see whats happening. I'm hoping for a little drop.
Also, I've been working on other strokes in last couple of months, so I suppose it's ralistic to see the progress in my freestyle slow down a tad.
Yeah, the meet results haven't been turned in, as far as I know. My coach and I were able to extrapolate our team members results, correct the age groups and post them on our website, at least as unofficial info for our own team members.

Yea, I actually got to see my coach mildly upset... That's a really rare sight.
