I got to the gyn at 5 minutes to 8:00 and the pool closes at 8:30 (bummer). This is what I got in: 500 warmup 8x25 kicks on :45 100 easy 4x100 on 2:00 100 cool down _____ 1200 yards In retrospect the warmup was too long and kept me from my main set. I had wanted to do 10x100 and get the yardage up to around 2000. Also, the short cool down left me panting into the locker room. I used the treadmill for about 10 minutes to "come down" a little. Anyway, can you structure 30 minutes total pool time so that you get in some decent work and still have time to cool down? Any creative ideas out there?

  • How about 5 X 100 on 1:30 Warm-up 5 X 100 on 1:25 5 X 100 on 1:20 5 X 100 ascending rest interval 1:15, 1:20, 1:25, 1:30, 1:35 (last 2 warm down) Start each set “on the top” and it is a 2000 yard work-out in 29:55. For Fritz, cut the intervals by 10 seconds (1:20, 1:15, and 1:10), with the 1:15’s fly and the1:10’s back:)
