Does anyone out there know of a site that gives average times for age groups and maybe some type of calculator to determine what your times may be at a certain age when you input one of your old times from high school or college?????
There are a couple of sites for age conversions that have been discussed in previous posts. One is http://n3times.com/swimtimes/

dont know of such a site, but most people of certain age groups differ vastly,so it goes more on ability rather than age,if you do a certain time post it on here and ask others if they have done the same distance, youll normally get a good response

Are you trying to figure out what your swim times might be?
I would think a lot more of it depends on your own conditioning and technique, and not as much on the age group.
If you're interested to see what other people in your age group are doing, USMS keeps the top 10 records, and various other results, and qualifying times for national level events.
On our team, we have 30, 40 and 50 year olds that are close to, or beating their college times right now...
"lifestyle' seems to be much more of a factor than age... till you get into 70 or 80+ yr old age groups.
At least that's my observation.

Yes, age is a factor and many people don't swim at 46 the same times they did at 20 years old. They are a few that have the ability to do that . The national qualifying times will show you how to compare yourself to your age group . At the 45 to 49 age group a 1:25 will in breastroke will make you qualify for women's breaststroke. However, in the age groups from 19 to 39 a 1:18 will qualify for national times. In the age group 50 to 54 for women 50 to 54 it slows down to 1:32 and each age group from there slows down 2 to 5 seconds. A 45 to 49 your old women is similar in times to 11 to 12 year old girls. A 35 to 39 is similar to 15 to 18 year old girls.
