A have a question for you guys: is there an equivalent of Master's swimming in Spain? My husband is nagging me to move to Spain in 18 months or so and I ain't going unless there's a some sort of swimming programme for me!! Any help would be appreciated...

You will find Masters swimming almost every country you go to nowadays, and Spain is not the exception.
Go to this website: www.rfen.es/homemast.htm
that is the equivalent of our usms.org for Spain. The only thing you might find is that there aren't as many competitions over there as there are here, but then again Europe is so much smaller you can look for competitions in neighboring countries.

you should have contacts and can find out when they practice and how much to suit your needs

Eliana I have been a member of the Golden State Masters for 5 years until I returned to Germany. A friend from NJ sent me the thread. I contacted the German Masters organization for help and received an e-mail address (grenados.j@oninet.es) of the president of a swim club in Palma di Mallorca who was also envolved in organizing the European Championships in 2001. He speaks German but I don't know whether he speaks any English but assume he does. I have sent him an e-mail and asked for more information and English-speaking contacts in Spain today. If I hear anything from him I will forward it to you. But also feel free to contact him yourself.
I am glad that I get the oportunity to reciprocate for all the help I had received from the US Masters during my stay in NJ.
Hey are you planning to go to the World Champs in Italy. I plan to attend and compete in the backstroke events. maybe we can meet there and chat over a cup of coffee.
