I would like to know what type of music you all listen to before your workouts? I know there has been a discussion on here about what music you listen to in your head, but I would like to know what you listen to before your workout? Classical, country, rap, head banging, pop, hip-hop/rap, jazz etc.? Can anyone suggest any good music?
Thanks for the replies!
I like a wide variety of music! My favorites are classic rock and roll like the Eagles, Aerosmith,Van Halen,CCR, Jimmy Buffet and Billy Joel. I also like country like Alan Jackson, Shania Twain and Brad Paisley
If I need wake up music, I listen to Disco.
If I need to psych up... sometimes I listen to trance - dance versions... It's fast, with good rythm.
For fun, I mostly listen to Pop... 80's and 90's and current stuff.
The Surfaris, the Ventures, Hot Tuna, Billy Bragg & Wilco, Tom T. Hall, Eagles (first three albums), Jimmy Buffett, Jimmy Cliff, Bob Marley or Hawaiian music.
Mid-'80s alternative or punk works to get my blood pumping in the morning. These days "Begin the Begin" by REM is the choice song for getting me psyched.
I try playing music in my head as I swim, but I can't do that and count laps. :)
The theme from "Rocky" will get you pumped up.
I was treated to a Roy Orbison tape last night from my In-Laws. The Black and White Night from 1987. Had Jackson Browne, Elvis Costello, T-Bone Burnett, J.D. Souther, Jennifer Warnes, kd lang, Bonnie Raitt, Bruce Springsteen and Tom Waits as back-up! It was awesome.
